The Blocks in Prosper, Texas

WILL YOU HELP US?

My name is Aaron Block. I’m married to my lovely wife, Cassandra, and we have four beautiful children.

My Story

I was born in Peru, but my family and I moved to Southern California when I was a child. Though we were all professing Christians, I was a false convert until about 18 years old, during which time the Lord awakened me by using Ray Comfort's Way of the Master TV show. I surrendered to Christ and my life forever changed. I found myself deeply burdened for the lost. I started to evangelize regularly, and eventually got a job at Living Waters (Ray Comfort's ministry). Two years later, I moved to Peru in pursuit of missions work. I had a growing desire in my heart to reach Spanish-speakers for Christ. Some time after that I ended up in Mexico, where I spent ten years serving as a missionary. There, by God’s grace, I labored in street evangelism, church-planting and pastoral ministry. This is also where I met Cassie (also a missionary), and where our four children were born. We currently reside in the San Antonio area, where I am serving as a full-time evangelist under the oversight of Community Baptist Church.

Evangelistic Work

For the past few years I’ve been regularly teaching the Bible at a state jail, engaging in street and college campus evangelism, expositing the Word at my church and doing itinerant preaching. But my primary ministry has been outreach to migrants. From 2021-2024, I labored extensively to proclaim Christ to the massive influx of people trying to get into our country. I reached out to literally thousands of of Latin Americans and Haitians on both sides of the Mexican border (including some cartel-infested areas), and in San Antonio.

A New Opportunity

At the turn of 2025 the migrant ministry came to a screeching halt. The government finally got the border situation under control…but this meant the end of this particular outreach. I wondered if there was something else the Lord would have me do.

In February, after visiting a dear missionary brother in Mexico, I came back from the trip with the very strong conviction that I needed to be involved in a church-planting endeavor. I didn’t know exactly where, when or how, but I firmly believed this burden was from the Lord. So I talked to my pastor about it, and resolved in my heart to quietly pray and wait, as I continued to engage in full-time evangelistic ministry. If this was truly God’s will, I knew He would providentially confirm it. I asked Him to please show me the way forward within the space of a year.

Fast-forward to June. I was secretly hoping for an open door to return to Mexico. Instead, I got an unexpected call from an old friend, Emilio Ramos. Emilio is a seasoned church planter, pastor and founder of Red Grace Media. His wife Trisha is incredibly evangelistic (you may have heard of Fish With Trish). She and I used to be fellow employees at Living Waters twenty years ago. The Ramos’s also visited us several times when we were missionaries in Mexico.

Back to the phone call: Emilio said he and a close friend of his were starting a church and really wanted me to join them. Cassie and I committed the matter to prayer, and concluded that this was the way forward. So we took the first step: visiting Prosper Reformed Church. We had a blessed time of fellowship with wonderful brethren. We have continued to regularly visit and spend time with this group of believers.

PROSPER REFORMED CHURCH

The Plan

Our goal and desire is to move to Prosper as soon as possible. I will help the other elders in overseeing the church plant, with a special emphasis on encouraging the brethren toward missions and evangelism. The believers there are already very active in sharing their faith, and I will join them on the streets and at the nearby University of North Texas—a huge mission field. Additionally, there is a significantly large Spanish-speaking population in the area. I hope to reach out to them and start a Spanish Bible study. Where providence allows, I will also seek to continue jail ministry, traveling periodically to Mexico and itinerant preaching.

The Need

Above all, we ask that you commit to regularly praying for us. Secondly, we ask that you consider financially partnering with us in this endeavor to help a growing congregation and spread the Gospel all over North Texas and beyond. We are a low-income family who for years have lived off of little, depending entirely on the Lord’s provision. Cassie and I trust that God will supply our needs—we’ve experienced His miraculous provision in the nick of time over and over again throughout our years of ministry. But we also know the Lord uses means, and that some of you are looking to contribute to a worthy cause. So we want to make this need known to you. We ourselves are unworthy servants, but we believe the advancement of Christ’s kingdom in this side of the world is certainly a cause worth supporting. If you are regularly giving to your local church but desire to also contribute to the work of missions, we would welcome your generous donation.

Our current hurdle is finding an adequate place to rent. On the average, a small family unit costs anywhere from $1,700 - $2,000 a month. On top of that, we would need $2-3k more to cover living, food and other expenses.

Any donation you can give helps, but we're especially praying God would bring in monthly, consistent support. If I could work full-time and engage in church planting, I would do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, for over twenty years I've been beset by various chronic degenerative conditions that makes this impossible to do. We are completely dependent on God's provision through the generous giving of God’s people.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. May the Lord bless you richly!

In Christ,
